Since the need for a conscious handling of resources gets more obvious by the arrival of climate change, I decided to research the aspects of minimalism and self-limitation. Under these buzzwords there can be found countless individuals who proclaim limited property for the benefit of a fulfilled existence. The present essay aims to assemble this tendency with theories from sociology, contributions in art history and design practice. But for all the essay deals with the question how limited consumption could work in a social and aestetic way.
